Gallica – digitized full-text journal articles dating from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century.  Entire site written in French – no search engine for journal articles.

 

Incomplete and Incorrect Citations – from UIUC Vet Med Library

 

Inventory of the Oldest Scholarly Societies (1323-1799), Abbreviations Used for Their Journal Titles.

 

Web of Science – beware of author name misspellings.  Use a variety of possible spellings with the Cited Ref search.
