Theresa A. Orlovsky
I am a first-year Master’s student studying TESL/Applied Linguistics at Iowa State University in Ames, IA. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish from Southeast Missouri State University. My research interests include literacy, second language acquisition, cognition, sociolinguistics, and computer-assisted language learning. I am currently working as a Graduate Assistant teaching an introductory English composition course.
Originally from the St. Louis area, I have been fortunate to be able to travel extensively, from the Dominican Republic to Denmark, and have an interest in teaching abroad after completely my Master’s. In 2012, I gained invaluable experience interning at the International Institute of St. Louis, where I worked helping international refugees learn English to gain US citizenship.
