ALERT: Person with gun has been found

AMES, Iowa -- A person who reportedly had a gun in Willow Hall early this morning has been found and is with police. The immediate concern has passed.

Residents of Willow Hall should remain in their rooms until the "all clear" is given by police.

ISU Police responded to a report of a person displaying a gun in Willow Hall at approximately 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Anyone not in Willow Hall is asked to avoid that area of campus.

The person is described as an African American male, approximately 6 feet tall, dressed in a black and white jacket with a white T-shirt and blue jeans. He also has a tattoo on his neck. Call 911 to report information about the suspect.

  • 1:32 a.m.: Police locate eyewitness in a Willow Hall room and obtain additional information
