NewsISU Sesquicentennial series to air March 15-17A three-part series celebrating 150 years of Iowa State, from its land-grant roots to its high-tech future, will air March 25-27 on Mediacom's access channel (channel 22 in Des Moines and Ames) . KCCI news anchor Kevin Cooney will host the series, which airs from 7 to 8 p.m. each night.

Iowa State researchers developing system to efficiently convert biomass to ethanolA team of Iowa State University researchers led by Victor Lin, a professor of chemistry and director of the Center for Catalysis, is developing a system of thermochemical and catalytic technologies to produce ethanol from plant biomass. Heidi Cullen, the program's climate expert, quotes work done by the Leopold Center about the number of food miles for a carton of strawberry yogurt.
