ISU President Geoffroy, new faculty and staff head north on Road Scholar Tour, Oct. 25

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University President Gregory Geoffroy will accompany more than 30 new faculty and staff on a bus tour through central and north central Iowa on Thursday, Oct. 25. The ISU Road Scholar Tour will visit Marshalltown, Iowa Falls, Mason City and rural State Center.

"This tour provides an opportunity for new faculty and staff to get a feel for the land, the cities and the people who make Iowa so special," said John Anderson, assistant to the president. "And Iowans can meet some of the outstanding new people joining ISU's faculty and staff."

The Road Scholars will visit a State Center farm, tour the high school and hear a presentation on diversity in Marshalltown. They will lunch on a riverboat and explore an ethanol plant in Iowa Falls, and tour North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) and socialize with ISU alumni in Mason City. ISU Extension staff will provide area overviews during the bus rides and host the group at each stop.

In addition to Geoffroy, top administrators on the tour include Executive Vice President and Provost Elizabeth Hoffman, ISU Alumni Association President and CEO Jeff Johnson, and ISU Foundation President and CEO Dan Saftig.
