2007 National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)
AMES, Iowa -- A random sample of 2,500 ISU freshmen and 2,500 seniors will be invited to participate in the National Survey of Student Engagement on Feb. 1.
Students who receive the web-based survey are encouraged to take the survey, which can be completed online in 15 minutes, said Kevin Saunders, coordinator of Continuous Academic Program Improvement.
"It's an opportunity for students to help shape the future of ISU," Saunders added. "The survey results offer strategies to improve student learning and serve as performance indicators for the university's five-year strategic plan."
The survey measures such things as the level of academic challenge, student interactions with faculty, collaborative learning, enriching educational experiences and how supportive the campus environment is.
Students selected for the survey will receive a message Feb. 1 from Indiana University and endorsed by President Geoffroy.
"It's an opportunity for students to help shape the future of ISU."
