Iowa State staff members work to keep things friendly at Saturday's game

AMES, Iowa -- While most of the action will be taking place inside Iowa State's Jack Trice Stadium this Saturday for the Iowa State-Iowa football game, volunteers will be working outside the stadium to keep the action in the parking lots to a minimum.

Members of ISU's student affairs division will be circulating around the parking lots outside the stadium before, during and after the game giving T-shirts, bumper stickers and temporary tattoos to fans.

The volunteers will also "help be the eyes and ears for law enforcement," said Bethany Schuttinga, director of judicial affairs and assistant dean of students, who will be in charge of the volunteer effort.

"If we see people who are in danger of dehydrating or getting injured, we will let the police know about it," said Schuttinga. "We want to let people know that we're keeping an eye on what's happening."
