President Geoffroy comments

Sept. 1, 2005

The greatest need right now is for money to support the emergency relief and relocation efforts. I am especially proud of our students for immediately stepping forward and organizing a campaign to raise funds for the American Red Cross's relief efforts. Collection stations, organized by the Government of the Student Body in cooperation with the local Red Cross chapter, have been set up at the Memorial Union, Curtiss Hall, Parks Library, the Maple-Willow- Larch area and elsewhere on campus to accept monetary donations. Please support their efforts by contributing. Anyone who would like to assist with this effort should contact the GSB office, (515) 294-1585, or the Student Activities Center, (515) 294-1023.

The University also stands ready to work with any student from a college or university in the New Orleans area who has been displaced by Hurricane Katrina and who is interested in temporarily transferring to Iowa State. We also may be able to house a limited number of displaced persons in some of our unused residence hall space.
