AMES, Iowa -- Michael Crum, professor of logistics and supply chain management and the John and Ruth DeVries Chair in Business, has been named associate dean for graduate programs for Iowa State University's College of Business. His appointment begins July 1.
Crum succeeds Anthony Hendrickson, who leaves Iowa State to become dean of the College of Business Administration, Creighton University, Omaha, Neb.
As associate dean, Crum will oversee graduate programs in accounting, business administration, information assurance, information systems and masters and doctoral programs in human computer interaction.
Crum received his bachelor's degree (1975) in transportation; an M.B.A. (1978); and doctorate (1983) in business administration, all from Indiana University, Bloomington.
He came to Iowa State in 1980, eventually serving as acting chair of the department of transportation and logistics from 1986 to 1987 and as chair of the department of logistics, operations, and management information systems from 1998 to 2001.
The College of Business was created in 1984. It is Iowa State's third-largest college with a fall 2004 enrollment of 3,900 students.
