Turner Classics line-up based on prof's research

ISU alumnus Sean McLaughlin spoke with Alumni Assn. director Jeff Johnson (right) during the weather segment of NBC's "Today Show" Feb. 13. McLaughlin fills in for Al Roker on "The Today Show" and is MSNBC's weather anchor. Johnson and other Alumni Assn. staff were in New York City for several alumni events.

City dwellers plow money into farmland

In Iowa, close to 40 percent of the farmland sold last year went to investors, many of them from out of state. That's a dramatic shift from just a decade ago, said Mike Duffy, ISU economics professor and Extension economist.

Alum featured on "Good Morning America"

ABC News

Iowa State architecture alum and former faculty member Bryan Berg (AKA "The Cardstacker") tackles the New York City skyline on ABC's Good Morning America to raise donations for tsunami relief charities. Working 18-hour days since Feb. 11 in GMA's Times Square studio, Berg has recreated landmark buildings with 178, 000 cards--one for each victim of the natural disaster. Berg and his creation will be featured again on Monday, Feb. 21, 7-9 a.m.
