As the team prepares for regional competition later this month, it will make two public demonstrations of the concrete canoe it has named "Swashbuckler."
The 2005 Mid-West Regional Concrete Canoe Competition will be in Platteville, Wis., Saturday, April 23. The competition features team presentations about the canoes, aesthetic judging of the canoes and races. The races begin at 1 p.m. at Blackhawk Lake near Platteville.
