IOWA STATE TO HOST VOORHEES LECTURE ON "INTEGRATING THE SUPPLY CHAIN" APRIL 4
AMES, Iowa -- The 11th Annual R. Dale Voorhees Lecture will be 8:30 a.m., Friday, April 4, at the FourPoints Sheraton Inn, 4800 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines. The lecture, which runs all day, is sponsored by Iowa State University's College of Business.
Five transportation and logistics executives will speak on integrating the supply chain.
Speakers and their topics are:
Richard Dolski, assistant vice president and supply chain manager, Cargill Inc., "Supply Chain System Capability."
John Kuehn, managing partner, JNF Venture Group, "Integrating the High Tech Supply Chain."
Michael McBreen, director of global operations, Nike, "Managing a Global Supply Chain."
Michelle Livingstone, vice president and director of transportation, J C Penney Company Inc., "J C Penney Supply Chain: Moving Forward with Greater Velocity."
Mike Crum, professor of logistics, operations and management information systems and organizer of the Voorhees lecture series, said each of the speakers will focus on "the critical objective and challenge of supply chain management."
"They will talk about how to integrate logistics and manufacturing operations among supply chain partners, upstream and downstream," Crum said. "They will touch on inter-organizational relationship management, demand and supply planning, information needs and systems, and performance metrics. Their companies are diverse with respect to the products and services that they offer and their placement and roles in their respective supply chains."

The Voorhees Distinguished Lecture series was established in honor of Iowa State professor emeritus R. Dale Voorhees.
