MEDIA ADVISORY: VILSACK TO MEET WITH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UNITS SEPT. 23
AMES, Iowa -- Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack will meet with representatives from four economic development units at Iowa State University from noon - 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at the ISU Research Park. The meeting is part of the governor's annual visit to Iowa State. Vilsack will receive organizational overviews on programs and learn about the impact of the budget reductions on staffing, programs and direct assistance to Iowa small businesses. Speaking with Vilsack will be Jon Ryan, director of Eastern Iowa Community College District office of the Iowa Small Business Development Center (Davenport area); Tom Barton, director of Ames Laboratory and the Institute of Physical Research and Technology; Steve Carter, director of the ISU Research Park and the John Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship; and Steve Howell, director of the Plant Sciences Institute.
Area media are invited to attend. The ISU Pappajohn Center For Entrepreneurship is at the Iowa State University Research Park in Ames, IA, just off of Elwood Drive, south of Highway 30. The meeting will be in Conference Room A, Building One, of the ISU Research Park.
