IOWA STATE ENGLISH PROFESSOR WINS NATIONAL TEACHING AWARD
AMES, Iowa -- Donna Kienzler, associate professor of English and assistant dean of the Graduate College at Iowa State University, has been awarded the Meada Gibbs Outstanding Teacher Award from the Association of Business Communication.
This national award annually recognizes business communication teaching or training, positive student and peer evaluations, conference presentations, and research awards and publications.
An Iowa State faculty member since 1976, Kienzler was named an assistant dean in the Graduate College and director of the university's Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) program in 2001. The PFF program supplements graduate student and post-doctorate preparation.
Kienzler has taught professional writing and communication to thousands of undergraduate and graduate students. She also helped design the professional writing curriculum and worked to establish the rhetoric and professional communication graduate degree programs at Iowa State.
