IOWA STATE HISTORY PROFESSOR EARNS WOODROW WILSON FELLOWSHIP

AMES, Iowa -- Xiaoyuan Liu, associate professor of history at Iowa State University, has been awarded a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship for the 2002-03 academic year.

The fellowship is one of 25 awarded annually by the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and the Elliott School of International Affairs of the George Washington University, Washington, D.C. The fellowships are awarded to individuals with outstanding projects that focus on public policy in a historical and cultural context. Liu's work will focus on the Cold War, the Chinese Civil War and the struggle for autonomy among China's minority populations.
