ISU ASSOCIATE DEAN SWITCHES RESPONSIBILITIES
AMES, Iowa -- Steve Rodermel, professor of botany and associate dean of budget and personnel for Iowa State University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, has been named the colleges associate dean of research. The appointment is effective Aug. 27.
Rodermel replaces Wolfgang Kliemann, professor of mathematics who was recently named Iowa States associate vice provost for research. An internal search to fill Rodermel's former position will be launched soon.
A faculty member at Iowa State since 1990, Rodermel has served as the chair of the interdepartmental genetics program. Rodermel earned a B.A. in philosophy Yale University, an M.S. in zoology and physiology from the University of Wyoming and a Ph.D. in cellular and developmental biology from Harvard University.
Rodermel has received numerous grants from various agencies including the U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Energy and National Science Foundation.
