03-16-08 Contact: Jerry Stewart, ISU Police, (515) 294-6762 UPDATE: 2:50 a.m. March 16 ALERT: Person who reportedly had gun found; Willow residents can resume normal activitiesAMES, Iowa -- A person who reportedly had a gun in Willow Hall early this morning has been found and is with police. Residents of Willow Hall can resume their normal activities. ISU Police responded to a report of a person displaying a gun in Willow Hall at approximately 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Anyone not in Willow Hall is asked to avoid that area of campus. The person is described as an African American male, approximately 6 feet tall, dressed in a black and white jacket with a white T-shirt and blue jeans. He also has a tattoo on his neck. Call 911 to report information about the suspect. Upon receiving the report of an armed individual in Willow Hall, officials activated the ISU Alert system, which sends emergency messages to faculty, staff and students via phone messages, text messages and e-mail.
