We currently have a post-doctoral opportunity that is geared towards developing your strengths in both physics and education. Approximately 75% of scholar's time would be dedicated to the analysis of data from the first heavy-ion collisions at RHIC with the PHENIX detector and exploring the properties of the quark-gluon plasma. As preparation for faculty work, the successful candidate will also do research in educational physics, e.g. developing and using diagnostic tests for problem-solving skills. The post-doc scholars will be active members of both the heavy-ion research group and the physics education research group at Iowa State University, and will be based at BNL, Long Island with occasional travel back to Iowa. |
