As much as we'd all hope that Infini-D would be completely bug-free, we need to be realistic. All software has bugs. There will always be a lag time between the bug report and a fix from MetaCreations.

The most we can hope for, in the mean time, is a way to make things work, going around those bugs as much as possible. This page is intended to warn people of possible bugs BEFORE they become a problem (before the final rendering/deadline), and to provide a workaround which will get the job done. Some of these solutions may be complicated. It may mean the difference between a job completed on deadline, or a job not completed.

This is not a complete list. This a work in progress. If you have found a possible bug, or found a solution to a bug, please e-mail me, and I will post it on this page.

Remember the golden rule- Always BACK-UP your work! Keep multiple copies in multiple places each time you make a change you don't want to redo.
Clipping Plane Bug---If parts of your models, close to the edge of the camera's Field-of-View (FOV) are disappearing in the final rendering, Phong or ray-trace, you may be experiencing this bug. ID3.5 and ID4.0
Clipping Plane Solution
Rendering Combustion---If you are using ID3.5, and your rendering stops before it is finished and leaves the rest of the image a black screen, you are experiencing the memory leak bug of ID3.5.

Infinite Plane Vibrations---Don't use the infinite plane in animations. Any mapped surface will appear to vibrate. This can be used on purpose to create interesting effects. ID--- all versions up to 4.0.
