Dear
Fellow Students,
Our names areLin Gu, U of Iowa, Ching-Ni Hsieh, Michigan State, Haiying Cao, Purdue University, Lixia Cheng, Purdue University, Forest Platzek, University of Lancaster, and Erik Voss, Iowa State University student representatives for MwALT. We hope you have had a chance to look at the
MwALT
mission statement
as it addresses issues of interest to graduate
students like ourselves. We want to inform you
about ways in which MwALT can benefit you.
MwALT provides us with an excellent opportunity to
interact with professionals in the language and
assessment field, and to broaden our knowledge and
expertise in various areas of language testing. In
addition, MwALT provides us with opportunities to
develop hands-on experience working on language
testing issues in universities, public schools and
other educational language settings. We can help
and learn at the same time!
We're
looking for your feedback regarding ways in which
MwALT can better serve you during your graduate
student years. Please don't hesitate to contact
us with any ideas or suggestions
(conference activities, ideas related to a
publication for MwALT, etc.).
One
important way that we can benefit from MwALT is
through networking with each other. Please join us
in spreading the word about MwALT and encourage
other graduate students to join.
We
hope to meet you at the conference at Purdue University in 2009
