Visual Cognition in a Visual World

We experience much of the world visually and, not surprisingly,
a substantial portion of the human brain is allocated to visual
cognition. I am intensely curious about this facet of the human
condition, and I am always interested in interacting with those
who share an interest in this topic.

With regard to the visual aspects of cognition, my primary
research interests reside at the intersection of visual object
recognition memory and visual object identification. I am
interested in how our visual system processes and represents
information, and how that information is used to (a) determine
the identity of objects in the environment and (b) recognize that
we have encountered specific objects before. I have a particular
interest in familiarity-based recognition, and the perceptual
  processes that contribute to it.

I am always open to dialog and research collaborations.
I encourage interested/curious parties to contact me.
