Cognition in a Visual World |
||
| We experience much of the world visually and, not surprisingly, | ||
| a substantial portion of the human brain is allocated to visual | ||
| cognition. I am intensely curious about this facet of the human | ||
| condition, and I am always interested in interacting with those | ||
| who share an interest in this topic. | ||
| With regard to the visual aspects of cognition, my primary | ||
| research interests reside at the intersection of visual object | ||
| recognition memory and visual object identification. I am | ||
| interested in how our visual system processes and represents | ||
| information, and how that information is used to (a) determine | ||
| the identity of objects in the environment and (b) recognize that | ||
| we have encountered specific objects before. I have a particular | ||
| interest in familiarity-based recognition, and the perceptual | ||
| processes that contribute to it. | ||
| I am always open to dialog and research collaborations. | ||
| I encourage interested/curious parties to contact me. | ||
