I am a graduate student in the Bioinformatics
and Computational Biology Program and the Department of Statistics at Iowa State University .I work with Dr.Karin
Dorman and more about my research can be found
here
Before coming to ISU I attended Stella
Maris College where I got a Baccarulate degree in Zoology and a Master's
degree in Bioinformatics .I attended High School at Vana Vani and Middle School
at Bala Vidya Mandir in Chennai, India and elementary school at Mother's
International School, New Delhi.
I was born in New Delhi, to my parents,
Lalitha Rajaram and Dr.L.N.Rajaram. My younger sister Megha is currently pursuing a PhD at SUNY stonybrook. We both sing
Classical Carnatic Music and till I got here, we
performed regularly at the annual music festival held at Chennai.
Chennai
It is the fourth largest city in India and the largest in South India. It is also considered a cultural hub. It is known, among other things, for the music and dance festival compared often to the Woodstock, the Tamil film industry, the many very beautiful and very old temples, the beach ( 2nd longest in the world, after Miami) and the burgeoning IT industry.
Like any city that one would grow up in, the culture and the people have a BIG influence on a growing teenager and having felt that influence through my growing years, I can vouch for the fact that Chennai is the best !
