Teaching World Languages: Your Path to a Rewarding Profession

Students seeking teacher licensure in a world language must earn a major in the language they intend to teach, complete general education course work, and complete teacher education required core classes.  Students are also required to take the ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and compile an electronic portfolio that demonstrates evidence of meeting the INTASC Standards for Beginning Foreign Language Teachers and the Iowa Teaching Standards .
