Topic:  Compare one folk tale we have read to a similar tale from another culture. Note the significant differences in plot, character and tone between the two tales, and discuss how these differences shape the way readers respond to the tales. (You may want to have several people you know read the two tales and give you their responses, but this is not required.) Offer conjectures, if you can, as to why the tales may have taken these forms in the two different cultures.

Almost all the suggestions here are either in your book or on the Web. Of course, there are many collections of fairy tales at your local library also. If you wish to compare two other tales, discuss your idea with me well in advance.
