Topic: Compare one folk tale we have read to a similar tale from
another culture. Note the significant differences in plot, character and tone between the
two tales, and discuss how these differences shape the way readers respond to the tales.
(You may want to have several people you know read the two tales and give you their
responses, but this is not required.) Offer conjectures, if you can, as to why the tales
may have taken these forms in the two different cultures.
