Chapter 6: Understanding the Articulation Puzzle

What is Articulation?

Articulation – can refer to the movement of a student’s academic credits or the process between educational institutions

Articulation Agreement – an agreement between educational institutions that courses will be accepted for transfer

It enables you to:

  • Take courses at different campuses of one institution
  • Reduce duplication of classes
  • Transfer community college credits to a four-year institution for general education requirements rather than elective credit
  • Transfer credit in your program for lower level courses rather than it transferring as electives
  • Start at a higher level in college and accelerate the process
  • Stay on track for graduation

How Does Articulation Impact Me?

Articulation impacts you, as a transfer student, for many reasons.

All of these are benefits of articulation and will help you in the transfer process to save time, money, effort, and frustration.
