Electronic Resources at the Parks Library
Most of the resources listed here are available across campus from computer labs, dorm rooms.
- ABI/Inform provides access to business periodical literature on a wide range of topics, including advertising and market research. It is the largest
and oldest electronic source of business information. This database is available only in the Reference Area at Parks Library.
- Business and Company ASAP contains citations and many full-text articles on companies, products,
markets, industries, economics, and management disciplines. It provides access to business and
management journals, trade journals, newspapers, the full text of PR Newswire releases, and profiles of
150,000 companies. Journal coverage is from 1994 to the present, and backfiles (1980-1993) are
available for some journals. This data base is updated nightly.
- Expanded Academic ASAP
contains citations and many full-text articles on current events, general sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Designed primarily to support undergraduate-level research, the database is useful to anyone seeking information on these topics. Journal coverage is from 1994 to the present, and backfiles (1980- 1993) are available for some journals.
- LEXIS-NEXIS Academic Universe covers a wide variety of trade, news, and business publications, health information and legal materials. Most information is full-text.

- Corporate Information by the Winthrop Corporation has profiles of more than 300,000 US and international companies. A fantastic site.
- Management 370 Page is updated regularly and explains how to find company information on the Internet.

Market Research Providers:
- Bureau of Census Many marketers use census data as the starting point for their analysis. You should too. . .
- Direct Marketing Association Has inforamtion about direct marketing including how to get your name off those pesky mailing lists. Look under "Consumers."
- EasiDemographics Demographic information on more than 100 different variables, derived from Census information. Free access.
- One of the leading producers of market research reports, Frost & Sullivan has their current catalog available.
- List of commercial market research firms from Advertising World
- Marketing Resource Center has articles, a business directory and marketing forum online.
- Mediamark Research Inc. produces demographic, lifestyle and product research. Some information is free with registration. Click on "Top-Line Reports" for more information.
- Quirk's Marketing Research Review This online source contains an article archive and directory of market research vendors.
