Advertising 301: Strategic Planning for Advertising and Public Relations
Library Resources:
The Online Catalog is the key to finding out whether the library owns books or periodicals you need. There is a help section available to asist you
in performing searches. You may also ask for assistance at the Journalism Library or the Parks Library Reference Desk.
Periodicals:
Current issues of these advertising magazines are held in various locations in Parks Library.
Below is a selected list of advertising and marketing periodicals:
Adweek's Marketing Week
American Demographics
Brandweek
Journal of Marketing
Journal of Marketing & Public Policy
Public Relations Journal
Marketing News
Sales and Marketing Management
Wall Street Journal
Use the
Online Catalog
for the exact areas. Do a "title" search for the name of the magazine.
To find other periodicals by subject, do a subject keyword search for the subject and periodicals,
e.g. "advertising periodicals."
Major Print Reference Sources:
Since there are a variety of sources to choose from, it's easiest if you do a search in the Online Catalog for the subject that interests you. Examples of searches include:
- Advertising--[various subheadings]
- Consumers--Attitudes
- Consumers--Research
- Direct selling
- Income--United States--Statistics
- Marketing--[various subheadings]
- Purchasing power
- Service industries--Marketing
IMPORTANT! Searches in the Online Catalog will only tell you if the library owns a book or periodical on a given topic. To search for periodical articles you need to use some of
the electronic resources listed below.
