will be similar to homework problems. 12 quizzes will be given and the highest

LATE QUIZZES WILL BE GIVEN.
Exams: There will be two in-class exams, a common midterm, and
a common final exam.
ALEKS: This
semester we will be using ALEKS to test precalculus skills of incoming Calculus
I students. A score of 80% must be achieved on the ALEKS assessment by Thursday,
January 31, to receive credit. The assessment must be taken in one of the
computer labs, 250 Carver or 449 Carver, and may be taken as many times as
necessary. Scoring 80% or higher will earn you 100% on the ALEKS portion of
your grade, and failure to score 80% by January 31, 2008 will earn you 0% on
this portion of your grade.
Calculators: Graphing calculators are recommended for studying,
but will not be allowed on quizzes or tests, except for portions of the midterm
and final exams.
Office Hours: Feel free to stop by my office during office hours to
ask questions about homework problems or class material. If you can’t make my
