About Me
Well, for starters I am a student at Iowa State University of Science and
Technology (ISU). I am majoring in a major called L ST which is Liberal
Studies Degree with a minor in Biology. Iowa State University is in
Ames, Iowa. Which is about 3 to 4 hours
away from my hometown. When I first came to ISU with my ex-girlfriend and I saw this campus I knew I had to
come to ISU. I really liked this campus so that is another reason why I wanted to come here.
The campus is not that big so a person can really get from one side to the other with hardly any work on their part.
When I first got to the campus, I was a little overwhelmed with all of the new information that was being thrown at me.
Then when I sat down and really looked at the info like in the campus maps that were provided when I moved in it really was
not that hard. In the first semester here at ISU I started to know were most of the buildings were so I did not have to ask
people where they were. I also adopted the rule that if I could not walk there on campus I would not go.
My Background
I am a 21 year old working in Monona at Moore's. Moore's is a grocery store where I do
a lot
of things. I have worked there for over 6 years. Most of the time when I am working afternoon or in the
morning. I really do like working there on Sunday's, because of the fact that on Sunday's I really am
the boss. When I am opening the store I cook breakfast's and bake sometimes when the shelf is empty at
night. The night crew will breakout some of the items for the morning crew to bake them for the shelf.
Any other time that I work I just do the things that are on the to do list that the Deli Manager makes.
We also wait on customers that come to the deli to get some food. Most of the time I am
either cooking
(on Sunday) so I don't get to wait on the customers that come up.
I also work at the Postville Community School District as a Bus Mechanic. It is really fun, because I get
to drive the buses and other things to bring them down to the bus barn where we are working.
My Father and I work on the buses to get them to pass inspection for the state.
We inspect them first and if we find anything wrong with the buses then we repair them to pass them. Then
sometimes we end up inspecting them for a second time or even a third time. That just depends on how much
we find wrong. We might not find something that needs to be repaired when we are looking at it the first
time then when we take something off then we find something else that needs to be repaired. If that happens
it really does make our life harder.
The years of college are going just fine. I
have had ups and down all throughout the years. I did take some interesting
classes in the past two years. One fun class was Anthropology 308
Archeology, and the other was Anthropology 302. Archeology was the most
interesting class I took so far, but I do like Psychology too. I enjoy working
on different things with my hands. I also really do like fixing different things
as in computers, and problems with computers. I have built my own desktop
computer and have fixed countless computers.
