Scheman Plaza

The scope of the project included a study of space by drawing the Scheman Building from outside to inside.  Required medium was graphite and images from both outside and inside must be included. 

We then analyzed the drawings for inspiration moving into the design of the plaza.  I attempted to create the feeling of enclosure through a gradient of space in the plaza.  When moving through the plaza, several layers of space are experienced through the use of layered vegetation and moderate grade change of the planting areas.  The higher elevation areas also serve as seating areas.
