My Name is Noah Van Dam, and I am a freshman at Iowa State University studying Mechanical Engineering. I am a big fan of reading and hockey (of the ice variety). I also enjoy learning and seem to know and endless supply of random facts to amuse some of my friends with. I am also really into cars (esp. fast ones) and politics. But more than any of this first and foremost in my mind always is how God has changed my life, especially this semester, and though He hasn't yet seen fit to give me a girlfriend I'll have to He has a good reason to not have. I am also involved with a couple campus organizations which I explain a bit more below. The final item you will see is a link to what I feel is the most important aspect of my first semester here at ISU.
Also known as Campus Crusade for Christ I was first introduced to this organization by my C.A. Mark. Since then I have grown to relish its Thursday night meetings as times when I can escape from the pressures of school and just go, hang out, and have a rockin good time.
As I pointed out above I am very into politics. Whether you have an optimistic of pessimistic view of the politicians in this country, you must acknowledge the power they have over everyone's lives. I have gotten involved because I know how I would like to run this city, state, country, and want all of them to become the best that they can be.
I have always liked cars. I even want to design car engines for a living when I finally graduate from college. This club is a place where I can really get some fabulous and very valuable experience working on actual cars and just learn more about them.
Well here it is, the most important part of my first semester at college. I moved around a little bit as a child and never seemed to have many friends. Indeed I know have more friends at one time than ever before combined. This page here will never be able to explain fully how I feel, but nonetheless I try to list but a portion of my friends here and how they have touched my life.

Also known as the sentence game, the essays here are generated by getting a group of friends/family together with pieces of paper and pencils for all. Each person writes one opening sentence, which is then passed on to the next person who then writes the next sentence. They then fold over the first sentence so that when the paper is passed only the sentence they wrote is visible for the next person to write their sentence off of. You just have to read these 'sentence-essays' to see how hilarious they can come out.
