My Friends

For this assignment I am supposed to discuss how I have documented, in this case my friendships, throughout this first semester. But how do you document friendships? You could take photos, look at letters or notes written, or exam your calendar for dates with each or them. More than that, though, I feel the best parts of friendships are the memories. No amount of photos of a friend can ever replace the memory of that one great night you had with your friends. So in that spirit below are a few of the very many friends God has blessed me with, and my memories of them, of us hanging out, of just being friends.

Nick Nevole

My roommate, where would I be without him? I think he go the raw end of this whole roommate deal, because I have had to rely on his guidance and his words so many times to get myself through this semester. Perhaps more than he even realizes, his words and advice have raised my spirits time and time again. There are more memories here than I could even begin to cover, every moment I'm with him I have the time of my life.

Mark Ewest

Mark Ewest

It may seem odd to some that I have put my C.A. on my list of friends, and no this isn't some ploy to get in his good graces. Mark the first week of classes invited me to go to Cru, where I've so many of my friends. Every week we still go and have a great time. He is also my Bible Study leader and more than almost anything else I look forward to these times when I can just hang out with Mark in his room after Bible Study and just talk.

Yuli Suvorov

Yuli Suvorov

Yuli, is any more explanation necessary. This man is a genius, and one of the few people who actually understands my inability to skip classes or not do the homework. As a part of my honors seminar we also had good times playing dodgeball and flippy cup, for a grade no less!

Brian Cheney

Brian Cheney

Despite his unfortunate last name (see my clubs if you don't understand), he was one of my first friends here. I met him in my first honors seminar before I transferred and we were also partners in Engr160. Though he didn't follow along with the professor as much as I wanted to, we still had a great time playing video games and creating programs that drew very large circles.

Chris Knuth

Chris Knuth

I met Chris early on this semester because he is friends with Mark. Whenever we hang out at Cru or in Mark's room or otherwise I am always amazed at his joy at life. He will start clapping for no reason whatsoever, just to clap and live life. How he has changed my outlook on life is truly amazing and will never be forgotten.

Maggie Melcher

Maggie Melcher

Maggie has been in my Engr160H class all year, but just lately have I gotten to know her as a friend. In studying for class together we always had the best times, even if we didn't quite study all we probably should have for the test. She's funny, smart, and pretty, I mean what else is there to say?

And this is but a small sampling of all of my friends. And to all of my friends that aren't on here, my apologies, but there was no way to fit everyone on here by the time that this project was due. What the memories I have of each of these individuals, and continue to make with them, I know will last me a life-time, one now spent a little less alone.
