Research
I use principles from ecosystem and landscape ecology to understand the consequences of anthropogenic change (e.g., land use, climate) for terrestrial and aquatic systems. Specific interests include historic land use and its effects on the distribution of soil nutrients and plants, the influence of spatial and temporal variability on plant populations, and the response of freshwater phytoplankton communities to weather and landscape configuration.
