To a question of the suppementary methane emission by the cryosols thawing. (Yamal Peninsula, Russia)
Felix M. Rivkin

The increasing of the depth of the seasonal thawing layer can be accompanied by the additional methane and carbon dioxide emision to the atmosphere. It will take place in the case of the global climate warming and happens now as result of the technogenic transformations of landscapes. Our investigation were carried out on the territory of gas deposits (Yamal Peninsula). The Methane has been detected in all samples of the frozen ground.

The suppementary emission depends on the contens of methane in cryosols and of the increasing of thickness of the seasonally thawed layer. The content of the mathane varies from 0.01 to 12ml/kg in the upper horizons of the cryosols. One can predict that the surface of permafrost will be decreased by 0.1-0.5m as result of the climate warming on the Yamal Peninsula.

The surfase of permafrost will let down by 0.03-0.8m by different technogenic transformations of the natural landscapes. We estimated that the potential suppementary emission may be ranges up to 1000m3/km2 as result by the increasing of the depth of the seasonal thawing layer by 0.1m.
