| Frame/Structures: The roll bar is the only major part still remaining. We are experimenting with using a fiberglass composite roll bar to save several pounds of weight. The seat support mounts were finished over the weekend. Fairing: No parts were made for the fairing this week. Some of the supplies have arrive, but some is delayed due to the bad weather. We have some new ideas for mounting the fairing to save weight. Drive Train: Chains have been run from both the front and rear cranks to the central hub along with all roller guides. This part of the drive train is now finished, except for adding tubing to protect the riders over the straight sections of chain.. The derailleurs for the drive side of the transmission are installed. A bracket was welded on the frame to mount the front derailleur. We are currently waiting on rollers for the final drive train assembly. We are going to purchase higher quality rollers for the front and rear chain loops. A wide roller is needed for the final drive chain to allow it to move back and forth throughout the range of the cassette. This will require a special roller we will custom fabricate. Controls: The rear brakes are partially installed. All components have arrived and they will be installed at the next shop time. Due to Spring
Break, we will not be working in the shop the next two weekends.
Look for the next update during the weekend of the 25th.
