| Frame/Structures: The frame is continuing to be built. The extensions to the front wheels and brackets were fabricated, along with parts to mount the front crank and the frame to support the crank. Fairing: The foam glued together last week was sanded into a final shape. The foam was then coated with bondo, which reacted with the foam and ate it away. Although the sample part was ruined, it was only a sample and we learned what needs to be done for the final fairing. More foam was glued together for testing next week. Drive Train: The main drive components have arrived and are partially assembled. The rear wheel and seats have not arrived, but should be here before next weekend. Controls: Mounts for the front spindles were built and attached to the frame. A handlebar has also been purchased. The steering can be built next weekend with the parts on hand. Website Changes: This week I am displaying the photos in a new way. I plan on keeping this format and using it for the rest of the semester. The new layout should load faster, and it will allow more photos to be uploaded for each update. The downside is you can no longer click on the image for a large version. If you have any comments about this change, feel free to email me. |
