- "Focus
Grant Reunion Exhibit" This
invitational exhibit will feature past grant reciepients to answer the question, "where are they now?" and
celebrate the history of this valuable program, March 22-April 30.

"The Early Years: The Founding Farm and the College"
This permanent collection exhibition focus is one the establishment of a
model farm on a prairie, the first families of the new college and farm,
and how this farm house was also the first campus library, business
office and classroom for what came to be Iowa State University, through
August 10, 2008.

"Morrill Act of July 2, 1862"
This exhibition displays a series of parallel timelines that illustrate
the correlation of the events and history that lead to the
transformation and evolution of Iowa State, and the building of Morrill
Hall and Christian Petersen, the nation's first permanent
sculptor-in-residence at an American university, March 22-April 27, 2008.

"Treasures from the Archives: Celebrating 150 Years of Iowa State University,"
This rotating display will feature special documents and artifacts from
Iowa State's history, April 21, 2007-December 31, 2008.

- "ISU's 150th Birthday Celebration," Iowa State's birthday celebration at the state capitol will feature exhibits highlighting 150 years of university service to the state of Iowa and a reproduction of the legislative act that established the Iowa Agricultural College and Model Farm (the forerunner of ISU), April 3, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
- "Lessons from Two of the Nation's Largest Disasters, from Someone Who Was Involved in Both," Scott Hamilton, a 1982 management graduate of the College of Business at Iowa State University, was Vice President of Investor Relations at WorldCom when it spiraled into bankruptcy amid the country's largest accounting scandal and was a public information officer for the State of Mississippi during Hurricane Katrina, part of the Iowa State 150th Anniversary Alumni Lecture Series, April 10, 4 p.m.
- "ISU sesquicentennial concluding ceremony," Iowa State's year-long sesquicentennial celebration concludes on central campus, following the Veishea parade. The short ceremony will include a talk by President Gregory Geoffroy, a salute recognizing military science's strong role in university history and the awarding of Iowa State's new "True and Valiant Award," central campus, April 12.
- Second Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, undergraduate students at ISU have had a long tradition of engagement in research. The symposium recognizes the often significant contributions of undergraduates to a wide range of research efforts within all colleges across campus, April 15, 2008.

County River Clean-up," The ISUAA Club of Hamilton County is
assisting in helping with the project by promoting and serving lunch to
the volunteers at the conclusion of the event. This is a great
opportunity for the Club to show their support to the Sesquicentennial
Service Project, and the greater Iowa State Community in Hamilton
County, Aug. 11.

amateur sand-sculpting contest at ArtSplash, the annual arts festival in Sioux City. The sculpture will be a contemporary interpretation of Christian Petersen's "Ring of Life" or "Marriage Ring" sculpture fountain on campus, Sept. 1.

- "All the Smoke and Cinders You'll Ever Want: The Ames & College Railway's Dinkey," Society Curator, Dennis Wendell, combines dozens of vintage images with anecdotes and facts about the incorporators, route, terminals, rolling stock, passengers, freight, and advertising. A sole surviving artifact will also be shown, Jan. 30, 7 p.m.

the correlation of the events and history that lead to the
transformation and evolution of Iowa State, and the building of Morrill
Hall and Christian Petersen, the nation's first permanent
