The Early Years: The Founding Farm and the CollegeMarch 22, 2007-August 10, 2008 DescriptionThis permanent collection exhibition focus is one the establishment of a model farm on a prairie, the first families of the new college and farm, and how this farm house was also the first campus library, business office and classroom for what came to be Iowa State University. New historic room installations include the bedroom of Adonijah Welch, where as Iowa State's first president he penned the first campus inaugural address, and the third floor explores the role of student life at the early campus that included labor and instruction.
