Student Credit Hours (SCH) andFull-Time Equivalent (FTE) InstructorsUniversity and College Summaries
Fall and Spring Semesters: 2003-2007
DEFINITIONS: Student Credit Hours: SCHs are calculated by multiplying the course credit by the number of students in the course. For example, a three-credit course with 30 students enrolled generates 90 SCHs.
Full-Time Equivalents: Full-time equivalent (FTE) instructors include tenured faculty, probationary faculty, non-tenure track faculty, and teaching assistants. The FTE represents the portion of salary paid from department General University funds. October payroll is used for fall semester; March payroll is used for spring semester.
Student Credit Hours Per Full-Time Equivalent (SCH per FTE): The total number of SCHs divided by the total number of FTE instructors at the department, college and university levels. University-level SCH per FTE excludes Veterinary Medicine.
% College, 5-Year Average, and 4-Year Change are included in the PDF and downloadable excel files.
Below are links to tables for the university total, departments within each college, additional SCH for interdepartmental courses, and departments administered by more than one college. Colleges are organized for all years by the college structure existing on July 1, 2007.
