Dr. Niki Davis and Rema Nilakanta will lead the Reading Group.

Dr. Niki Davis  is known for her leadership of information technology in teacher education in Europe and the USA, provides overall leadership of this reading group. Her introductory section will lay the foundation for our web community with readings on distance learning and introductory perspectives on culture and English as an inter-cultural language. Dr Davis’ students in ISU and London will support those new to collaborative learning online.

Rema Nilakanta is Dr. Davis' doctoral student completing her dissertation in Fall 2006. Her interests deal with design and development of online learning environments for higher education. It includes exploring models of collaborative and democratic learning as well as studying issues of power relationships in the design and development of online learning technologies.
