Starting EndNote & Creating a Libraries

Like most windows based programs there are a variety of methods to start an application or to complete a task. 

The three primary methods of launching EndNote are to (1) double click on the EndNote icon on the desktop, (2) choose the program from the start menu or (3) launch the application from Microsoft (MS) Word.

To Launch EndNote from Windows:

1.         Go to the Start menu and browse until you locate the EndNote Group, mouse over to display the available files and choose EndNote Program.

To Launch EndNote from MS Word either

1.                  Choose the EndNote X Group under the Tools option from the Menu bar and click on Go to EndNote.

OR

2.                  Click in the EN button on the EndNote Toolbar.

Creating an EndNote Library

Likewise there are a variety of methods of Creating a new EndNote Library.  When you launch the program the following box appears.  To create a new library simply click on the button next to Create a New Library.

Libraries can be created anytime by choosing New under the File Menu.
