Throughout
my college career, I have tried to be involved in many things that pertain
to my major so I can maintain a strong interest in the agricultural
industry. I joined the Block and Bridle Club as a freshman and am now the Sheep
Interest group president as a sophomore. I currently serve on a few
different committees that deal with the fundraising for a new livestock
pavilion for Iowa State University.
I
am also a proud supporter of the ISU football and basketball teams. Ever
since I came here, I have enjoyed cheering on the Cyclones with friends.
Another thing that interests me is working out; as it gives me a chance to
relieve the stress of school. Throughout the week and some weekends, I work
at the ISU Sheep Teaching farm. This is a great way for me to ‘feel at
home’ since I get to work with the sheep and help with daily chores.
I
am very passionate about livestock and hope to obtain a job in the animal
nutrition industry. All of my past experience in both high school and
college would benefit me in a job of that nature. Working outside on the
farm is one of my favorite things to do and I hope to someday have a farm
of my own that I can tend to.
