Model Persuasive/Argumentative Essays

Even though we are in a new millennium, century and decade, the quantity of people that have sex without protection is still increasing; increasing too are the probabilities of being pregnant, or worse, getting a venereal diseases like AIDS or gonorrhea. Gonorrhea is one of the most common in the United States because more than 12 million persons including 3 million teenagers are infected every year. To decrease these numbers, I propose developing a big campaign in schools, teaching the consequences of having sex without protection and another proposal would be to speak with all the women in the world about that because women are the persons that suffer the most.

Actually, the school's programs about sex are very poor because they don't explain the problem that we have right now; they only talk about what sex is and that we must have sex with protection without explaining why. If we could begin a real school program about sex, this would be without attachments, and lies, only the truth. First, we could explain when we may have sex, and finally the consequences of having sex without protection.

My second proposal consists of creating a group of only women in each city, county, and town to talk about this problem. Because we are mothers of a child or children, we are the only people that can fix this problem by teaching our children about unprotected sex, also because we are more careful than the men are.

Probably, some people wouldn't agree with my proposals because they that the program will be very expensive, or that having unprotected sex is more fun. However, I can say that the program is not expensive because a lot women will do it free, and if it is expensive, we can do some activities to collect money. The another objection, that sex without protection is fun, come on, who thinks that getting a disease is fun?

We are in time to do the right thing so that our future generations will grow in a world safe and secure at the time of having sex.

Many teenagers in my country (Indonesia) are looking for fun out of their houses because they can't have fun at their houses. One of the places where most teenagers go is the discotheque. They can get much fun there, espcially for teenagers who don't get much attention from their families. They can find a lot of friends and happiness by staying there for a long time. On the other hand, it can have bad effects on them because as you know a discotheque is a place where many people look for fun by using drugs and drinking a lot of alcohol. Alcohol and drugs can have bad effects on their bodies. To solve this problem, parents should pay more attention to their children and schools should give more information about the effects of drugs and alcohol on teenagers' bodies.

Many parents in my country never give a lot of attention to their children. They prefer to work hard and earn a lot of money to give their children a better life. They don't realize that their children need their attention not their money. They work all day without thinking what the effect is of their work. For example, I had an English teacher when I was in high school. She was a widow. Her husband died many years ago. She had a son who was 23 years old. She worked hard everyday. She thought she could give her son a better life by having a lot of money. She entered her son in the university but her son never went to school. He usually went to a discotheque to drink alcohol and take drugs without his mother knowing it. At the end of semester, the university called his parent about his behavior at school. Her son told her that it was true. He never attended classes. It disappointed his mother. It made her realize that her son didn't need money. He needed attention from his parents, especially his mother in this case.

Many schools in my country gave little information about drugs and alcohol. For example, in my school, I got information about drugs and alcohol when I was in the third year of high school. It was the last year of high school before we went to university. They told us that drugs and alcohol weren't good for our bodies. They didn't tell what the effect is on our bodies. So for many students who never read about the effect of drugs and alcohol, it's better if the school gives a lot of information when the students are in the last year of elementary school because most students who are in the last of elementary school have reached 12 years old. So the students could know what the effects are at a younger age. Moreover, it would be good for them so they wouldn't become involved with drugs and alcohol.

Many parents think that they should work hard to get a lot of money to give their children a better life. They ask if they give more attention to their children without working hard, how will they get a lot of money and how will they make their children happy without money. In my opinion, I prefer to give more attention to my children than work hard because children are more important than money. So if I can teach my children the good basics, it can make me happy and when my children are adults, I can work harder than before because I'll believe that my children will never do the wrong thing. Moreover, schools can have a good effect on their students too if the school gives the information at the beginning of their students' school lives.

In conclusion, more attention from their parents and the information from the school have good effects on the teenager.
