"Nothing is impossible." This is a well-known sentence from the commercial of Adidas. It is true. It implies everything is possible, but just depends on how rough it is. McGrady is a good instance to prove it. He is a famous and successful NBA basketball player now, but he had a rough road to be successful in the past.
In high school, McGrady was one of the members of the school basketball team. He played an important role on the team. Albeit he couldn't bring his school team to be companion even in the final, he gave his best and scored many points in every match. The team's head coach liked him so much, and always praised him. This made McGrady proud of himself, but the nightmare was beginning.
McGrady was picked by the Toronto raptors, the same team as his cousin, Vince Cater. In his first year of NBA life, he couldn't have the same smooth situation as his cousin. His cousin was assigned to the regular team, but he was just assigned to the supporting team. Although McGrady was as powerful as his cousin, he could just sit in the supporting seat and watch how his cousin showed off and was praised by the audience. Nevertheless, he was permitted to play a game. At that time, he thought he got to show all of his talents and gave a performance for the coaches and audience. Unfortunately, the coaches didn't admire his performance, and criticized his overacting. Afterwards, he was never permitted to join a game.
Although his first NBA life was despairing, he didn't give up. He figured out why he always sat on the supporting team that year. Finally, he was traded to the Magic, and is a regular player. He knew this was a good opportunity for him to be famous. He also realized teamwork was very important to the whole team. He scored an average of 30 points in every game. He made it; he became a popular, world-famous NBA star, and he doesn't need to admire his cousin or other NBA stars anymore. He made his success by persevering.
If McGrady had given up in the beginning, he couldn't have the present achievement. It proved that nothing is impossible; it just depends on what you pay and how you persevere. Maybe this is why people named him "Crazy' McGrady, and he is my NBA idol forever.
The film starts rolling, chords of piano, a short man coming from the bottom of the white screen. Suits, seen better times, big shoes, brush mustaches, funny bowler hat, cane, twirling in his hand. It's a scene in which many people will recognize Charlie Chaplin. The look of his face is enough to make the audience burst into laughter. The story of his stormy life, his creative work, and his human opinion make him one of the symbols of the 20`h century.
Charlie Chaplin's life began in a poor room somewhere in London; he was on the " Top of the World", and he died far away from the country he called home land. He had a difficult childhood; he had to learn the cruel lessons of life so early. Second kid of two vaudeville actors, he stepped out on a stage when he was 5. Every night he made the audience of a London theater laugh. His talent to make people laugh was discovered. From then he grew up in all means. He learned to play violin and cello, to dance. He couldn't read the music, but he composed it for his own movies. With no education and no outside help, he became one of the best actors, directors, and scriptwriters of the 20th century.
Charlie Chaplin's movies easily touch the human's soul and make it sad, or happy, or thoughtful. He was a comedy actor. From the first sketch to his latest creations he acted the same role of poor, dreaming, romantic man. With "The Great Dictator" he warned the American society what Hitler was becoming. Nobody believed his prophecy then; he was blamed as a communist even. He was critical of the American government also. In "Immigrants" he criticized the way newcomers are treated by the Immigration authorities. For the above reasons and some of his public speeches, Charlie Chaplin was banished from the country he called homeland.
