II.             Financial Report

A.        Treasurer Mike Collins reported a current balance of $26, 189.02.  This year’s convention showed a profit of $8, 152.75.

B.         Mr. Collins Reported a total of 287 registered for the convention.

C.         Motion by Olson, second by Campbell to purchase two $5,000.00 CDs—motion passed unanimously.

III.           Convention Review

Many items regarding the 2002 State Convention were discussed:

A.             The secretaries round table was well attended—good idea to move it to Monday.

B.             Discussion of Monday being a very busy day—should we have some sort of break in the afternoon, or a place for AD’s to gather and talk.  The North room was suggested as a possibility.

C.             Convention format works well and should be left as is.

D.             LTC classes—Should we consider offering only two classes?  Also it would be nice to find an assistant LTC coordinator to help Jim Gebhart.  Duane Halverson has again offered to pay $100.00 to each of five ADs who get their CAA in 2003.

E.             We have received many positive comments from the five-state exchange participants.  Kevin Pederson did a great job with that program.

F.              Curt Olson informed the group of some changes that will be made by the awards committee for 2003.

IV.           Other Items

A.             The national convention is December 14-18, 2002 in San Antonio.  The IHSAA will again be hosting a hospitality room.

B.             The 2002 Summer Retreat for the executive board is August 2.

C.             The Convention Questionnaire was discussed.

D.             Bob Garms, Larry Moklestad, and Roger Campbell will be attending a meeting on May 15 with the IHSAA,  IGHSAU, state Music and Speech organizations to discuss the issue of merging organizations.

E.             The IHSAA Board of Control and the IGHSAU Board of Directors will each have an opening this next year.  The IHSADA will support Dan Delaney
