Alpha Lambda Delta / Phi Eta Sigma
I was offered membership into these honor societies as a freshman in 2005. I have been a member of the Executive Board since then, and am currently serving as President of Alpha Lambda Delta, and as Webmaster of the two chapters. Our main focus each year is philanthropy, and our major project this year is a Charity Skate to collect food donations for a local Mid-Iowa Community Action food shelf.

American Cancer Society Relay for Life
I have participated in Iowa State University's Relay for Life since freshman year. Teams raise money in the months before, taking pledges for the event and accepting donations. Held at the Lied Recreational Center, the event runs from 7pm through 7am the next morning. The teams always have at least one member walking throughout the time, while the others sleep, socialize, and enjoy the provided activities.

Campus Scouts
I recently joined this organization in fall 2007, and I love volunteering with them. We have helped out with daycamp activities at Camp Sacajawea in Boone, IA, and are currently working on our March Petal Pickin event for Daisies.

Cantamus
I've been a member of this auditioned all-women's choir since my freshman year, singing a wide range of repetoire. My favorite pieces so far are Zutaz, Amazing Grace, and The First Nowell.

Celtic Dance Society & Piping
I joined this dance group my freshman year, and I try to go as often as I can because it is a lot of fun. We've learned mostly Scottish Country dances, but have also done bits and pieces of Irish step dancing. The bagpipe group started my junior year, and I've been working on the practice chanter since then.

Concert Band
I was a member of the Concert Band my first semester as a freshman, wanting to continue playing trumpet in an ensemble. It was a really fun semester, and hopefully I'll have time and room in my schedule for it again.
