Squaw Creek Recorder Ensemble
We try to meet once a week, and play for about two hours.
Generally we prefer early music, either written or arranged
for recorders, by composers such as Bach, Byrd, Dowland,
Froberger, Gabrieli, Holborne, Isaac, and Telemann. Occasionally we perform for churches and other community organizations.

Central Iowa Symphony
Erica and I play second violin in the Central Iowa Symphony, directed by
James Hannon. Musicians from Ames and nearby communities
rehearse once a week on Mondays, 7:00 p.m - 9:15 p.m, beginning
in September and ending in April. The orchestra presents four concerts
during the season.
Before the 2007 Spring concert, we and two other
parent-daughter pairs in the orchestra were
interviewed by Laura Pieper, a reporter for the Ames Daily Tribune. Laura
wrote an article,
All in the family, which appeared in the May 3 edition of the Tribune.
