Dance Instructions
Waltzing to Iowa Waltz 32 1C Circle
Wee Hoose on the Prairie
1-8 All couples (W on the R of her Partner) in one big cirlce, face center,
nearer hands joined; ADV for 2, RET for 2; turn towards partner to face
out; ADV for 2 (away from center), RET for 2; turn to face partner.
9-16 'GYPSY' with partner (dance round each other back to place, maintaining
eye contact, but no hands); TURN by the R back to place;
17-20 Retain partner's R hand, join L hands with neighbor (one big circle, M
facing in, W facing out); everyone BALANCE R, and BALANCE L. 1/2 TURN
with neighbor by the L.
21-24 Retain neighbor's L hand, join R hands with new neighbor: one big
circle, M facing out, W in. BALANCE R and L. 1/2 TURN with neighbor by
the L, to face partner;
25-32 Dance BACK-TO-BACK with partner; pass partner by the R and TURN new
partner with B hands to face center of circle, nearer hands joined.

1M with 3W, CHANGE PLACES giving appropriate hands; 1C, 1/2 T by the R,
LEAD UP to 1st place (stay in the middle).
9-16 1C, in promenade hold, dance R OF 3 with 2C, giving R shoulder to 2W.
1C finish in 1st place facing down, in the middle on own sides (nearer
hands joined); 2C finish in original places; bar 16, 3C step in to join

Glasgow Assembly
1-8 1st & 2nd C turn partner 3/4 with both hands to finish in a line up
and down the middle. Dance a half reel of 4, ending by turning partner to
finish on own sides of the dance in progressed position.
9-10 1C set advancing to finish facing 1st corners.
11-12 Turn 1st corners with both hands to finish 1W between 2C facing down,
1M between 3C facing up.
13-16 Repeat 9-12, with 2nd corners, finishing between corners.
17-18 2nd, 1st & 3rd C cross by the R, 1st C end facing out, 2nd & 3rd C
face in diagonally.
19-20 1C cast around person on right WHILE 2C & 3C adv & ret one step
diagonally. 1W ends between 3C all facing up, 1M between 2C all facing
down.
21-22 All change places by the right with opposite person. 1C face the ends
of dance, 2C & 3C face in diagonally.
23-24 Repeat 19-20, ending with 1C facing PARTNER'S 2nd corner POSITIONS.
25-32 1C dance half reel of 4, passing by L. Facing partner's 1st corner
position, dance half reel of 4 and turn by R to 2nd place on own side of
dance.

1-8 1, 3C cross by the R, cast off one place (others step up); dance 1/2 fig
8 up thru the C just cast round.
9-16 1, 3C T by the R, then by the L to face 1st C positions.
meanwhile
2, 5C cross over by the R, dance clockwise round to finish at the opposite
end.
17-24 1, 3C dance 1/2 R of 4 with 1st C positions (pass L shoulder in
middle); 1/2 R of 4 with 2nd C positions (L should in middle).
25-32 1, 3C dance 1/2 R of 4 with 3rd C positions; 1, 3C T by L, cast off 1
place (4, 5C step up).
