Dance Instructions

Waltzing to Iowa                Waltz 32 1C Circle
  Wee Hoose on the Prairie
1-8    All couples (W on the R of her Partner) in one big circle, face
       center, nearer  hands  joined; ADV for 2, RET for 2; turn towards
       partner to face out; ADV for 2 (away from  center), RET for 2; 
       turn to face partner.
9-16   'GYPSY' with partner (dance round each other back to place,
       maintaining eye  contact, but no hands); TURN by the R back to place;
17-20  Retain partner's R hand, join L hands with neighbor (one big
       circle, M facing in, W  facing out); everyone BALANCE R, and BALANCE L.
       1/2 TURN with neighbor by the L.
21-24  Retain neighbor's L hand, join R hands with new neighbor: one big
       circle, M facing  out, W in.  BALANCE R and L.  1/2 TURN with neighbor
       by the L, to face partner;
25-32  Dance BACK-TO-BACK with partner; pass partner by the R and TURN
       new partner with B hands to face center of circle, nearer hands joined.

  Iain Boyd, Let's All Dance, Too
1-8    1C set twice;  dance down btw 2C and cast up to place.
9-16   1, 2, 3C dance crossover mirror reels of 3 (1C on opp sides).
17-24  Repeat, with 1C on own sides.
25-32  1C turn by R, cast to 2nd place;  2, 1, 3C turn by R once round.

  Goldring/10 Social Dances
1-4    1C dance in toward each other and cast to 3rd place. 2C & 3C step up
       on 3-4.
5-8    2C repeat bars 1-4.
9-16   3C, 1C, 2C dance The Knot. 1C finish facing 1st corners.
17-24  1C set to 1st corners then dance round each other by RS to face
       2nd corner; repeat with second corners to finish on own side in 2nd
       place.
25-32  2C, 1C, 3C circle 6 hands round and back.

1-8    1C LEAD down the middle & up. End in the middle of the set as 2C &
       3C step in ready for
9-16   1C, 2C & 3C PROMENADE. On last 2 bars, 1C cast to 2nd  place, 2C
       dance to 1st place, 3C  return to original places.
17-20  1C PASS RS & turn 1st corners RH. 1W end between 2C facing down.
       1M end  between 3C facing up.
21-24  1C PASS RS up & down & turn 2nd corners RH. 1C end in 2nd place on
       opposite sides.
25-28  RH across. 1M up with 2C, 1W down with 3C. 1C end in 2nd place on
       opposite sides.
29-32  1C * FIGURE of 8 around 2C, 1W up, 1M down.


Sugar Candie                    Strathspey  32 3C
  26/9
1-4    1C set and cast.
5-8    1C dance round 1st corners passing R shoulder; finish back to back
       in the middle, 1W  facing 2C, 1M facing 3C.
9-12   Dance 3 hands round to L, 1C finish by pulling back by R shoulder
       to face each other.
13-16  1C set and turn 3/4 with 2 hands. Finish facing 1st corners.
17-24  CPCP. 1C finish facing 1st corners.
25-32  Reels of 3 on the sides, 1C giving L shoulders to 1st corners to
       begin. 1C cross to own  side by the R, bars 31-32.

       to face 1st corners.
9-12   1C set to 1st crnrs, turn by R to finish (1W btw 2C facing 2W, 1M
       btw 3C facing 3M);
13-16  Dance L shoulder 1/2 R of 3 across the dance (at the end, 1C pass
       by R to face 2nd  crner person).
17-24  Repeat 9-16 with 2nd crners; (1W half R with 3C, 1M with 2C [L
       shlder]).
25-32  1C turn by L 1-1/2 times;  1W with 2C, 1M with 3C dance RHx.

       1-1/4 times into a line up & down the middle of the set. Men facing
       down.
9-16   2C & 1C REEL of 4. 2M ends facing women's side, 1W  ends facing
       men's side.
17-24  2M followed by 2W, dance down behind 3W into 3rd  place on own
       sides. WHILE 1W followed by 1M,  dance up behind 3M to end in original
       places. 1C, 3C, 2C  ADVANCE & RETIRE.
25-28  3C & 2C turn partners RH 1/2 & dance RH ACROSS 1/2 End on the
       sides.
29-32  1C & 2C turn partners RH 1/2  & dance RH ACROSS 1/2. End on the
       sides.

       corner with 2 hands,  pass partner by R to own side one place down.

       DANCE UP  joining nearer hands; finish as for double triangles.
9-12   Join hands as for DT, SET, and 'INVERT' triangles;
13-16  All SET, and 'INVERT' triangles.
17-24  1M with 2, 3W, 1W with 2, 3M dance R HANDS X; 1C pass by R, 1W
       with 2, 3W, 1M  with 2, 3M dance L HANDS X; 2C finish at the top facing
       down (1W in middle), 3C  finish in 3rd place facing up (1M in middle)
25-32  In lines across the dance, ADV & RET; 1C TURN by the R 1-1/4 times
       to 2nd place on  own sides.

       RS back and dance to opposite sides of the set facing out
5-8    1C and 3C TURN to the right and DANCE CW one quarter of the way
       around the set, curving in to end back to back in the middle of  the
       set, while 2C and 4C repeat bars 1-4 and  end facing 1C and 3C in
       lines of 4 across the set
9-16   REELS  of 4 ACROSS the set
17-20  2C with 1C, and 3C with 4C, dance 4 HANDS AROUND
21-24  All SET and dance RH ACROSS 1/2 way
25-28  2C and 4C (in the center) dance 4 HANDS ACROSS
29-32  2C passing 1C, and 4C passing 3C, dance out passing RS with their
       opposites, TURN to R and DANCE 1/4  of the way  around the set to new
       positions

1-8    1C cast off, dance down behind own line, turn out, and dance back to
       place.
9-16   1C & 2C turn by R, then by L.
17-24  1C, followed by 2C, lead down, turn and 2C lead back up to new
       places.
25-32  2C & 1C dance right and lefts.

       2C step up, bars 3-4.
5-8    1C dance round 1st C, passing them by L shoulder; finish in 2nd
       place on  opposite sides of dance.
9-16   1M with 2C (give L shoulder to 2M), 1W with 3C (give L shoulder
       to 3W),  dance  R of 3  across the dance.  2C & 3C dance 8 bar reels.
       1C turn by L hand on bars 7-8 to  face 1st  corners.
17-18  1C change places with 1st C by the R; 2nd C set.
19-20  1st C change places giving L hands;  other dancers dance clockwise
       round set to  next corner position.
21-24  Repeat bars 17-20 from new positions.
25-28  Repeat bars 17-20 from new positions. On bars 27-28 1C (now in
       middle) turn by L  hand to 2nd place on opposite side.
29-32  2C, 1C, 3C set on the sides.  1C cross by the R to own sides.

          while
