Note I:            Week #1, 8/27 to 8/31: This week at lab class, pick up a copy of the Diagnostic Math Exam and computer answer form (or from Room 12 if you are absent from lab). Do the exam at home, following the instructions at the top of the exam, and return your completed computer form at lab the following week (you should keep the exam itself). If you do not attend lab because of the Monday holiday, illness, etc., the completed answer form should be returned to the box labeled, “Physics 111 - Diagnostic Math Exams - completed answer forms” in Room 12 by 5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6.

Note II:          Monday, Sept. 3: Students whose lab class normally meets on Monday are not required to do experiment #N2 but ARE REQUIRED to submit the completed answer form for the Diagnostic Math Exam and to do the homework for experiment N2. The exam answer forms should be placed in the box labeled, “Physics 111 - Diagnostic Math Exams - completed answer forms” in Room 12 by 5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6. The homework for experiment N2 should be submitted at your next lab class. These students are also welcome to attend any other lab section on Tuesday through Thursday (which has room for them) to do experiment N2. See the hours below. Simply ask the instructor at the section that you choose to attend if there is room for you. You may then give this work to your regular instructor at your next lab.

Note III:         Note that next week’s lab is not the next one in the manual! Be sure you prepare for the correct lab each week!

Note IV:         This lab is not the next one in the manual!! Labs are not always done in the order which they have in the manual!!

Note V:          All math assignments are due by the Thursday, October 18.

Note IX:         Note that there is a regular experiment scheduled for the last week of classes that all students must complete.

Note X:          Any student who does not submit a completed answer form for the Diagnostic Math Exam by Thursday, Sept. 6, should plan to complete the Full assignment for all nineteen topics, as listed in the write-up for the Math Exam in the lab manual. Students who submitted an answer form will receive a score report indicating which of the nineteen assignments, if any, they should complete.
